At least 11 people were killed in Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon, Lebanese officials said, in the most serious escalation since a fragile ceasefire framework was agreed and one that mediators warn could unravel it.

Israel said the strikes targeted weapons storage and launch infrastructure. Lebanese authorities said civilians were among the dead and that several villages had been evacuated.
