Dangote Refinery IPO becomes Nigerian investment phenomenon
The planned offer of 4.1 billion shares at about ₦525 each would raise roughly $1.6 billion and imply a valuation near $47 billion.

The planned public offering of Dangote Refinery has become a major focus for Nigerian investors, with the scale of the transaction drawing attention across the country’s capital markets.
The offer is expected to comprise about 4.1 billion shares at approximately ₦525 each. On that basis, the transaction would raise roughly $1.6 billion and imply a valuation close to $47 billion, subject to exchange rates, final pricing and the completed offer structure.
Supporters see the listing as a chance for domestic investors to gain exposure to one of Africa’s largest industrial projects. The refinery’s strategic importance does not remove the normal risks attached to a large energy investment, including crude supply, margins, debt, regulation and currency movements.
Editorial note: Share count, price, proceeds and valuation remain linked to the proposed offer terms and may change before completion. This report is not investment advice.
